Vehicle Comparisons:
2014 Nissan Maxima Compared To The 2014 Kia Cadenza

When you’re looking for a new car that will get great gas mileage, looks good, and handles well, all while being reasonably priced, it’s difficult to beat either the 2014 Nissan Maxima or the Kia Cadenza. Both are very nice cars that provide a comfortable ride. However, in a side by side comparison, the Maxima provides the most bang for your buck!

Fuel Economy Compared

In the city, the Cadenza can be expected to get about 19 miles per gallon with that climbing to 28 miles while dealing with non-stop highways traffic. In stop and start city traffic, the 2014 Nissan Maxima does just as well, getting 19 mpg. However on the highway, the Maxima doesn’t perform quite as well and only got 26 mpg during test drives. Both cars use regular unleaded gasoline.

Exterior Features Compared

When comparing the exteriors of the 2014 Nissan Maxima and the Kia Cadenza, the two cars are pretty evenly matched. Each of the cars has a solid, reliable appearance, though the Kia does have a slightly more sporty look, while the Maxima looks better suited for a young business person who wants to create the impression they’re reliable.

Interior Features Compared

The interior features the 2014 Nissan Maxima has includes:

  • 14.2′ of cubic storage space
  • anti-theft protection
  • six cd changer
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Heated front seats
  • Heated steering wheel
  • The driver has access to two power outlets in the dash
  • Keyless entry and Keyless starter
  • dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Five passenger seating
  • Rear seats that feature split folding for additional storage space
  • The steering wheel has built in audio control

The Cadenza seats an equal number of people but most say the seats aren’t quite as comfortable. Even though the interior of the Kia Cadenza is quite nice, it lacks some of the little touches that the 2014 Nissan Maxima provides. The interior is pretty basic. The one area where the interior of the Cadenza comes out ahead of the Maxima is the rear seat. The Cadenza has more legroom for passengers.

Safety Features Compared

The Nissan company performed well in safety tests earning an overall four star rating in crash tests. It earned five stars in both the side crash and rollover simulations. In standard crash tests, the Kia Cadenza received a good rating in each test except the Structure/safety cage test, where it only earned an acceptable.
