2013 Nissan Juke Comparison
Just looking at the 2013 Nissan Juke from the side, front or rear, one can see it has its own signature stance. The Juke has a remarkable, sculpted hood with eye-like headlamps below and angled turn signals on the hood itself. This is an aerodynamic vehicle with high ground clearance to see the road better and a turbo charged engine to give this crossover a true-SUV feel.
The Chevy Equinox has a typical box feel that one associates with larger SUVs. It seats five and comes with similar features to the Juke. However, it offers eight trims, making it more difficult to get all of the premium features you want without paying a premium for them. The Juke offers three trims, and a base price that is $5,000 less than the 2013 Chevy Equinox.
Inside The Juke
The Juke offers a truly dynamic design that works with an owner’s needs. The gauges and gear shift are reminiscent of motorcycle and race car heritage. A specially designed niche offers a USB drive, audio jack and a resting spot for your portable device. Generous cargo space is made more generous by additional space hidden under the cargo floor. Adding to this flexibility is a split rear seat that provides more cargo space. Technology includes standard Bluetooth, a rearview camera and touchscreen.
Under the Hood
The Juke offers slightly more horsepower and slightly more torque than the Equinox. The Juke achieves horsepower via a turbo charged engine that does more with less, allowing the Juke to get 32 mpg on the highway. Whereas the Equinox gets 22 mpg in the city, the Juke can get 27 mpg/city. For more savings, the Juke’s push button ignition allows drivers to save even more by turning the vehicle off at redlights.
Both vehicles use gasoline direct injection. Only the Juke adds the flexibility of XTronic Continuously Variable Transmission. It also gives drivers the choice of front wheel drive or special torque-vectoring All wheel drive. Only the Juke offers the ICON system with the CV-Transmission that gives the driver a choice of the sport mode or the EcoMode. Only the Juke offers a manual transmission for those who crave complete control.
The Juke also has speed sensitive steering, the latest, greatest idea for safer, smarter handling. Speed sensitivity gets more miles out of every tank of gas. Brake Assist and other electronic systems also make handling and braking safer.
