2013 Nissan Xterra Review

The 2012 Nissan Xterra is the ideal off-road SUV. It is strongly built, muscular and off-road ready. It is also great for everyday driving. The five-passenger Xterra offers drivers and passengers a comfy interior with loads of cargo space.

The interior of the Xterra is well-styled and cozy. The controls and gauges are simple to read and conveniently located. The roomy cabin offers generous head and leg room and the seating is cushy. There are three trims of the latest model of the Nissan Xterra, which are the X, S and Pro-4X. The X model is equipped with various standard features such as rear privacy glass, cloth upholstery, 16-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, a roof rack and keyless entry.

A tilt steering wheel, cruise control, power locks, windows and mirrors and a CD stereo are also available on the X model of the Nissan Xterra.

Nissan added off-road tires, a height adjustable driver seat, 16-inch alloy wheels and a roof rack to the S model.

The Pro-4X model comes equipped with various off-road features like foglights, upgraded off-road tires, hill-start and hill assist and roof-mounted off-road lights. The Pro-4X also features satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The Nissan Xterra is also equipped with various safety features such as front, side, and overhead airbags, anti-lock disc brakes, tire pressure monitoring and stability and traction control.

Under the hood, Nissan equipped the new Nissan Xterra with a heavy-duty 4.0 liter V6 engine that generates 261 horsepower and 281 pound feet of torque. The X and S models of the Xterra are available in four-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. Four-wheel drive is the only drive available for the Pro-4X model. An automatic six-speed transmission or a manual six-speed transmission is available for various models.
