If you’re looking to enrich yourself a bit, then there’s no better way to do so than by learning more about art. We don’t just mean looking at it—we mean actually making it.
At Montgomeryville Nissan, we feel lucky to live in as vibrant an area as we do. Around here, there is no shortage of art centers where you can learn to take on a new craft. These three are our absolute favorites.
Main Line Art Center
The Main Line Art Center is known for more than just its phenomenal classes and exhibits. It’s also fairly easy to spot simply for its architecture. The center’s building is half turn-of-the-century home, half modern museum.
The Main Line takes special care to showcase the local art community, particularly by giving emerging artists a place to strut their stuff.
- Check it Out: Among the center’s current exhibits is Draw the Line: the 13th Annual Betsy Meyer Memorial Exhibition. Stop in and see it while it lasts!
Merion Art & Repro Center
At first glance, the Merion Art & Repro Center probably seems like a simple art supply shop. Not only is it the area’s #1 source for supplies, framing, and reprographics, it’s also an educational center.
For 45 years, the artists at Merion Art have been guiding locals. Stop in for advice on the very best supplies, or take in a Saturday class or demonstration—some are even free!
- Check it Out: If you’re a student, you’re in luck. Merion Art is partnered with several colleges and universities to offer you the Class Kit Program.
Wayne Art Center
Since 1930, the Wayne Art Center has been providing our area with internationally-recognized exhibitions and education. No matter what age or skill level you’re at, you can find a program here.
Community outreach is built into Wayne’s foundation. Frequently, classes are offered for our special needs neighbors to engage in a bit of art therapy.
- Check it Out: The Wayne Art Center is now featuring Essential Earth,a collection of sculptural ceramics.
Looking for a New Hobby
The best thing about art is how utterly relaxing it is. If you’re looking for a new hobby, stop by any one of these art centers for some hands-on instruction.
Their schedules are jam-packed and differ greatly. Connect with each center on social media to learn more about their upcoming events.
