So to help you find one of these homegrown brews, here are the best craft beer breweries in the Montgomeryville area you can visit in honor of National Beer Day.
Crooked Eye Brewery
13 E Montgomery Avenue, Suite 2
Founded by Paul Mulherin, Jeff Mulherin and Paul Hogan, Crooked Eye Brewery opened in 2014 with five-gallon extract batches. Today, they use a seven-barrel system to produce the brews many have come to love. Crooked Eye Brewery features popular beers including a refreshing Boro Blond Ale, Crooked IPA and Hazy Eye Double IPA. Plus, you can indulge on samples of all their brews while enjoying events like Comedy Open Mic Nights and live music performances from local artists in the tasting room.
Forest & Main Brewing Company
61 N Main Street
You wouldn’t expect a Victorian house in Ambler to provide great beer, but that’s exactly what you’ll get at Forest & Main Brewing Company. Situated in a home renovated by owners Gerard Olson and Daniel Endicott, it features British- and Belgian-style brews such as the popular Kinch the Knifeblood, their award-winning IPA. On top of that, they offer Tiny Tim, a dark beer, and the delicate and floral A Live Lady—but what’s great about Forest & Main Brewing Company is that its more just a brewery. It’s also a restaurant complete with lunch, dinner, dessert, and wine and cheese menus.
Iron Hill Brewery
1460 Bethlehem Pike
North Wales, PA
Iron Hill Brewery was founded by Kevin Finn, Mark Edelson and Kevin Davies and was first opened in 1996 in Newark, DE. Since then, it’s grown to include more than ten other locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. It’s known for its delicious foods, but its biggest claim to fame is its local handcrafted beers. Each one is made in house and every brewery features different brew masters trained to consistently deliver great tasting beers no matter which location you go to. Some of the beers Iron Hill Brewery in North Wales features are the Iron Hill Light Lager, Pig Iron™ Porter and Witberry™.
810 Dickerson Road, Rear
North Wales, PA
Located just 10 miles away from the City of Brotherly Love, Prism Brewing provides beers crafted with fresh ingredients to ensure full-flavored ales. They have a diverse selection of beers from the Shade Blond to the Misdemeanor IPA—but while each brew has its own flavor, Prism Brewing works to ensure they’re all balanced with fresh, whole and natural local ingredients. What really makes this brewery unique, however, is its packaging. Beers are packed in a 6-pack fully enclosed box, the first to be made in the country to prevent contamination and to help preserve the flavor and quality of the beer.
Round Guys Brewing Company
324 W Main Street
Round Guys Brewing Company in Lansdale isn’t producing your ordinary craft beer. Sure, they have some great selections like the Round Guys Dead Souls Pumpkin Porter and the Round Guys Lansdale Lager, but they offer much more than that. This brewery also features the Round Guys Berliner-Weisster. It’s light and refreshing with a strong tarte sourness many craft beer lovers will enjoy, and if the sourness is too much for you, they also offer complimentary Woodruff or raspberry syrups to offset it and enhance the overall flavor. Best of all, a lot of their beer selection changes throughout the year. Every time you visit, there’ll be something new for you to try.
National Beer Day is right around the corner! Don’t forget to celebrate and show your support with delicious brews from these top craft breweries in the Montgomeryville area!
