When Mark Twain said “golf is a good walk spoiled,” he clearly wasn’t looking at what modern courses have to offer. These days, golf courses are available in nearly every locale, for the men and women who want to get some exercise, enjoy the sunshine, and take out any frustrations they may have by driving a ball down the fairway.
In the Montgomeryville area, there are plenty of things to do, but if you’re looking to get out and enjoy a nice day in the sun, try one of the best golf courses in the area!
Cedar Brook Country Club
The course at the Cedar Brook Country Club starts off with a par 4 hole that doglegs slightly to the right and things just get better from there. With a total of four par five holes, the course can be difficult for novices, but the scenery is incredible and the greens are maintained incredibly well.
In order to play through on this course, you must be a member, but they offer several tiers of membership so you can select which one of these options is best for you. With a world class restaurant on the grounds, swimming pools, and plenty of events to keep your social calendar hopping. See how much fun there is to be had by checking out the photos on their Instagram page!
Five Ponds Golf Club
Boasting an award winning golf course, Five Ponds is a full service location. Not only are you able to golf your cares away, but you can also take lesson with a pro, join a club or a league, or get fitted for some new clubs. For your added convenience, golfers can schedule their tee times online.
If you’re feeling a bit peckish after your eighteen holes, Five Ponds Golf Club has a great little bar and grille featuring some delicious food and refreshing drinks. They also have enough space to host your next work function or even your daughter’s wedding. Check out their tweets to see what’s happening on the course and beyond!
PineCrest Country Club
So much more than just a golf course, the PineCrest Country Club has some beautiful wooded views, a great little sports bar, and more than enough space for your next big event. The grounds include the award winning event facilities, a spectacularly maintained golf course, and although it says it is a country club, membership is not required.
The course is actually a great course for beginners as it features only two par 5 holes, while the rest are 3s and 4s. Whether you’re just learning to play or if you’re an old pro, the course presents enough challenges that you’ll have a great time. Check out their Facebook page for more details.
