Happiest Hours: The Top Spots for Happy Hour In Philadelphia

When it comes to getting some drinks with friends after work in the City of Brotherly Love, there are a lot of options.  Every local hotspot has a drink special or two that makes it an interesting place to get together with colleagues and vent after a long week at work.

So, you got put in charge of the arrangements for this get together, right? Well, do you want to make this month’s happy hour the best ever and be lauded as the office hero?  Then hit up one of these three top happy hour spots in the Philadelphia area.

Bud & Marilyn’s

This local hot spot, Bud & Marilyn’s has been a Philly institution for over 20 years, ever since Chef Marcie Blaine Turney had the urge to open a new restaurant inspired by the family restaurant she’d grown up in.  With the help of her business partner and co-owner Safran, the mission of Marcie has been to revitalize the block on which several of her businesses are located.  Over the years, they’ve been able to turn a downtrodden block into a trendy business district.

Happy hour goers are able to choose from a limited menu of appetizers and sandwiches as they sip their drinks.  You can chow down on a Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich or pick some Pimento Cheese to share as you wind down after the work week.  Check out everything they have to offer on their Instagram!

Oyster House

Changing the menu often enough to keep things popping and serving some of the freshest and best seafood is one of the reasons the Oyster House is such a Philadelphia landmark.  In business, in one iteration or another, since the late 40s, this happy hour hot spot has only become more popular over time.

If oysters on the half shell or oyster shooters are your idea of a good time, then get on over to The Oyster House for their buck-a-shuck happy hour.  At $1 per, you’ll fill up quickly on ice cold, fresh, and briny oysters or sample some $3 oyster shooters.  If you’re not a seafood fan, enjoy some inexpensive drafts or their $5 punch specials.  Check out their Facebook page to see what’s up with happy hour specials.

The recipient of many “Best of Philly” awards, including Best Beer List and Best Hidden Gem, Tria has three locations to serve its customers.  At their Walnut Street location, guests will be treated to some awesome pub favorites to get their grub on.

The happy hour specials at the Tria Taproom are perfect if you’ve assembled a crew.  With their Take 5 special, they offer five drafts and five dishes all for five dollars each.  You can select some plates to share from the ever changing menu or select a new drink you’ve been waiting to try.  Get what you want for just five bucks.  Check out their Twitter feed to find out more!

Here’s To A New Week Ahead!

Gather your favorite co-workers, plan a girl’s night, or enjoy some drinks with the boys at any one of these Philly hot spots.  Enjoy some suds you’ve never tried before, chow down on some house made pierogis, or suck back some oyster shooters as you celebrate the end of another work week and celebrate what’s to come!
