The Doylestown Arts Festival began in 1991, with the goal of drawing visitors and attention to downtown Doylestown and expanding the art and culture foundation of the area. In 2017, the festival is set to be the best one yet, with a massive offering of art and music to explore. The festival will take place on the weekend of September 9th and 10th, and is free to the public! Here’s some of the fun things you’ll find at the Doylestown Arts Festival 2017.
The festival features two food courts to keep you energized throughout the festivities. A variety of wonderful local food trucks will be present to serve up their delicious fare from crab cakes to funnel cakes, burgers, ice cream, pierogies, crepes, and much, much more.
Five stages full of musical acts will be hoppin’ throughout the weekend, featuring everything from rock to jazz to local Bucks County folk music. More than 20 local bands are on the roster, with more to be announced soon.
Live demonstrations and activities will be featured throughout the festival, with unique and interesting offerings. You’ll have the opportunity to dye your own silk scarf, learn about woodworking, observe a pottery demonstration, or have your photo taken with a vintage wet plate camera.
And now for the main event: 160 local artists will be featured at this year’s festival. A vast number of different mediums will be represented, including photography, jewelry, pottery, recycled art, textiles, illustration, and many more. Head to the festival website to discover exactly what you’ll find. Whether you’re interested in purchasing some homemade soap or wearable art, or metalworks to decorate your home or garden, you’ll find plenty of gorgeous and interesting designs to explore.
