The Nissan Pathfinder is one of the most versatile, roomy and tough three-row crossover SUVs on the roads of Lansdale, Philadelphia and Doylestown. It’s been among the most popular vehicles in its segment for many years, now, and it’s only a year out from a number of substantial updates and a mid-cycle refresh in 2017. Many drivers, naturally, are excited to see what this year brings to the table. Besides some great additional upgrades, there are plenty of ways you can configure your Pathfinder to suit your exact needs. The main way this is done is through the various available trim levels. Let’s take a look at the 2018 Nissan Pathfinder trim levels, what you get at each level, and how it all comes together to create one of the best SUVs on the market.
2018 Nissan Pathfinder Trim Levels
There are four main 2018 Nissan Pathfinder trim levels. The base entry model is the S trim, with the SV and SL forming the mid-range of the lineup, and the Platinum being the range-topping luxury model. Even at the base level, however, there are plenty of comfort and convenience features to satisfy drivers.
At the S-Level, you get a 3.5-liter V6 engine which gives you 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque driven by a CVT. It’s standard front wheel drive, but you can opt for four-wheel drive with hill descent control and locking hubs for extra traction. You also, at this level, get tri-zone climate control, keyless entry and ignition, rearview camera, split-fold second row, sliding and reclining back seats, and a sound system with satellite and HD radio, CD player, two USB ports, two USB charge-only ports, Bluetooth and an 8-inch touchscreen. Frontal crash mitigation via automatic emergency braking is standard.
At the SV level, you get all of the above, plus automatic headlights, fog lights, power driver seat, parking sensors, auto-dim mirror and leather-wrapped steering wheel. The door also opens here to an optional All Weather package giving you heated seats, steering wheel and exterior mirrors. You can also get an optional Tech package which gives you GPS Navigation, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, adaptive cruise control, Nissan telematics systems, and trailer hitch receiver.
At the SL level, you get everything above, plus you get full leather upholstery, power liftgate, top-down parking camera system, power passenger seat, heated back seats and upgraded cabin trim materials. The optional package at this level is the Premium which gives you 20-inch wheels, panoramic sunroof, Bose 13-speaer sound system and trailer hitch. You can also go for the Midnight Edition, which turns everything jet black.
At the top of the range is the Platinum trim. It starts by giving you absolutely everything above. Then it adds LED headlights, power steering wheel, wood interior trim and ventilated front seats. You can also opt for a back seat entertainment system including 8-inch headrest displays.
