2013 Nissan Murano Review
Nissan recently released the 2017 Nissan Murano. If you’re looking for a more recent ride, check out our review in this article.
The 2013 Nissan Murano is a crossover vehicle that has a sleek, aerodynamic design and comes in four different versions–S, SV, SL and LE. All versions have front-wheel drive and a gasoline-powered, 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers 260 horsepower. The Murano has a continuously variable automatic transmission that offers very smooth acceleration and fuel economy which is quite respectable for a six-cylinder engine (EPA estimated 18 MPG city, 24 MPG highway and 20 MPG combined).
2013 Nissan Murano Interior
Standard interior features for the S version (the least expensive trim) include front and rear cup holders, tilt steering wheel, power windows in front, air conditioning and automatic temperature control. The standard entertainment system on the S version includes AM/FM radio, MP3 decoder and CD player all connected to an array of six speakers. Other standard interior features include center armrest in front complete with storage bin, leather shift control, tachometer, split rear seats that fold down for additional storage and bucket seats in front. It should be noted that if you want a navigation system, you can get it on the SV, SL and LE versions at a cost of around $2,200.
2013 Nissan Murano Exterior
The Murano S version comes with exterior features that include dual exhaust, power mirrors for the front doors, liftgate in the rear, intermittent wipers, wiper for the rear window, and warning device for low tire pressure. It is interesting that the S version also includes remote keyless entry as a standard exterior feature. This feature helps to insure that you never get locked out of your car, and it is sometimes not standard equipment on the least expensive version of a particular car make and model.
The Murano has extensive safety and security features which include front impact and side impact airbags on both sides of the front seat, overhead airbag, traction and stability control, anti-lock brake system, emergency braking assistance and an immobilizer. An immobilizer is an electronic security device that prevents the car from being started unless the correct key is inserted into the ignition. This can thwart efforts to steal the car by the “hot wiring” method.
