2014 Nissan NV Passenger
The 2014 Nissan NV Passenger is a full-sized van with an optional high top, a simple basic structure with numerous available upgrades that allow you to customize your experience, and a strong value proposition. This van can seat up to 12 and is as convenient as it is roomy. There are three trims available: the S, SV and SL.
The Entry Level S Trim
First up is the base S trim, which includes a sliding door on the passenger side, air conditioning, cloth upholstery, and a 4-speaker stereo with CD player and audio jack. There is also an optional Power Basic Package, which comes with power windows, power locks, cruise control and a keyless entry system.
The SV and SL Trims
The SV starts with the features included in the S, and adds extra chrome accents outside, a 6-spaker stereo, back parking assist, and an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat with manual lumbar adjustment. The SL trim includes leather upholstery, an automatically dimming rear mirror, heated seats in the front, Bluetooth connectivity, 2-zone auto climate control, and parking assist in the front. The SV and SLV are both optional with the Technology Package, which adds a navigation system, rear camera, and USB port.
Engine Specs and Specifics
There are two engine options on the 2014 Nissan NV Passenger. First is a 4.0L V6 engine with an output of 261 horsepower and 281 lbs.-ft. of torque, and second is a 5.6L V8 with an output of 317 horsepower and 385 lbs.-ft. of torque. They’re both coupled with a 5-speed transmission and are RWD. When it’s equipped well, the NV Passenger Van can tow up to 9,500 pounds.
Safety Features for Peace of Mind
There are numerous safety features included on every trim, which include side airbags in the front, stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, and side curtain airbags that run the entire side of the van.
Interior Design and Unique Features
The most notable thing about the interior is the support seats in the front and the impressive legroom in the back. This legroom was created by pushing the engine out via an elongated hood. There’s also an available center console, which adds quite a bit of storage. A pull-out drawer under the driver’s seat adds an additional spot to stash little items. The gauges and controls are very smartly designed and are laid out in a straightforward manner, which results in a set of very easy-to-use controls.
There are 4 rows of seating, for a total capacity of 12 passengers. The 2nd and 3rd row seats are 65/35 split, and the 4th row is 50/50 split. Each of the sections can be removed individually, which allows you plenty of flexibility to accommodate plenty of passengers or plenty of cargo, depending on the situation. When the 4th row is removed, the 2nd and 3rd rows can be pushed further back, which adds even more legroom. If you’re planning to use this van as a cargo van, then you can remove the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rows to get a total of 234 cubic feet of space. There are back doors that swing open 243 degrees, magnets to keep them open, smartly placed grab handles, and a reasonable low step-in height, all of which make this a simple van to load up.
Is this the right van for your needs? That depends on many factors, but those who want a van with tons of flexibility, two power engine options, and lots of intuitively designed storage space may find that the 2014 Nissan NV Passenger Van provides everything they need.
