2015 Nissan Frontier
The 2015 Nissan Frontier, which has a starting MSRP of $17,990 and gets 19 city mpg and 23 highway mpg, is perfect for anyone looking for a sturdy work truck that’s tough enough for work in Lansdale and Doylestown while still easy to maneuver in downtown Philadelphia.
The Frontier S (standard) model comes with a 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine with a five-speed manual transmission. There’s the option to switch to an automatic transmission, but that will add more to the final cost. For more power, the SV model comes with a 4.0-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine, which has a six-speed manual transmission, also with the option to switch to automatic.
The S trim comes with 15- x 7-inch spoke steel wheels and General Grabber all-season tires. The SV trim, however, comes with 16- x 7-inch six-split spoke aluminum-alloy wheels and BF Goodrich Radial Long Trail T/A outlines white letter tires. If you’re looking for a reliable work truck to get you to and from jobs, the S model will serve you well. But if you’re looking for an upgraded look and feel, the SV trim may be better. ;
The S trim also has an optional Preferred Package, which will add $1,200 to your overall cost. But this extra cost may be worth it since the package includes features that can make your ride more comfortable. If you commute into Philadelphia, it may be worth investing a bit more on up front to make your morning and evening drive a little less boring.
The Preferred Package includes the following:
- AM/FM/CD audio system
- Air conditioning
- Bluetooth hands-free phone system
- Front map lights
- Cruise control
- Illuminated steering wheel-mounted audio controls
- Overhead console with sunglasses storage
Everything in the Preferred Package is included with the SV trim, but this trim includes several upgrades and some additional optional features.
This inlcudes the following:
- Dual power outside mirrors
- Bedrail caps
- Sliding rear window
- Three 12-volt DC power outlets
- Voltage and oil pressure gauges
- Sun visors with vanity mirrors and extension
- Tilt steering column
- AM/FM/CD audio system with 5-inch color display
- USB connection
- SiriusXM satellite radio with three-month subscription
- Streaming audio via Bluetooth
- Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System
Of course, there are many ways to customize your 2015 Nissan Frontier, with optional features for both of these models including the following:
Factory-installed bedliner ($355) made of high-density polyethylene to protect the bed with a non-slip surface for loading and driving.
Custom-fit carpeted floor mats ($135), perfect for the worker who doesn’t get dirty enough to hose off the floor mats but still wants to be able to do a quick vacuum job.
Non-sliding toolbox ($455), which makes it easy to safely store your tools to have them readily available on site for any job.
There’s also a full suite of smaller optional features as well, including towing equipment, body side moldings, step rails, fog lights, hood protector, side window deflectors, spare tire lock, emergency road kit, seat belt extender, illuminated ash cup, air bag anti-theft bold, license plate frames, all-season floor mats, and a fixed bed extender.
Regardless of whether you’re looking for the strong, reliable standard Frontier or to upgrade to one of the more expensive and luxurious trims, the 2015 Nissan Frontier offers everything you could want in a work truck. And with the reputation for reliability that comes with the Nissan name, you know you’ll make a good investment.
