The Nissan Altima has always been a stylish vehicle, but the redesign came with some luxury design cues that elevate its look even further. A deeper, V-shaped grille, a steeply inclined hood, and a smooth roofline improve the profile and aerodynamics, while sleek accents create a bold appearance that’s sure to turn heads on the road. Inside, the reshaped dash is sleeker, smoother, and more spacious, giving passengers valuable space without sacrificing a practical layout. The center touchscreen is high on the dash, ensuring it’s within easy reach of the driver, and the swooping shape carves out more legroom and increases the airiness.

Taking points from the incredibly popular crossover SUVs, the Nissan Altima replaces the old V-6 with an updated 2.5 liter inline-4 that produces 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque for rapid acceleration. This engine is also quieter and runs smoothly, which will no doubt improve the fuel efficiency. It transfers power through a continuously variable transmission to all four wheels, which is another update for the new model year, and paddle shifters are also available. The optional engine is a turbo-4 that produces 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, which also uses a continuously variable transmission to cycle power to the front wheels. Redesigned electric power steering with dual steering pinions, new front struts, rear multi-link suspension, and monotube rear shocks improve ride comfort and handling.
Interior Comfort and Features
With the redesigned interior, the Nissan Altima has more space than ever. Passengers enjoy ample headroom and legroom in all seating positions, cushioned by padded, contoured seating that ensures long-distance comfort. Power-adjustable seating, leather upholstery, and heated seats take the luxury up a notch as well. All models are equipped with an excellent infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smartphone integration for enhanced entertainment. All models come with a desirable suite of advanced safety features, including automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and a rearview camera. Adaptive cruise control, active lane control, and blind-spot monitors are optional as well, increasing your awareness and protection on the road. Some models can be equipped with ProPILOT Assist as well, which is a semi-autonomous driving technology that gives you the freedom to relax and enjoy the long drives more.
