2015 Nissan Murano Technology
Since 2003, the Murano has been turning heads and boldly blazing new paths in the evolving Crossover vehicle tradition. Now, it appears Nissan has outdone themselves all over again with a vehicle that looks like it was pulled straight out of the future. Nissan states that the bold design concept for the all-new 2015 Nisan Murano was indeed influenced by aerospace and humankind’s future voyages among the stars.
Accompanying the striking new look is a host of vehicle technology features that will make you feel as if you are piloting a spaceship into unfamiliar territory, even if all you are doing is taking a cruise around the block. Philadelphia, Lansdale and Doylestown drivers can all get a taste of the new face of automobiles by visiting Montgomeryville Nissan and ogling all the impressive new gadgets the Murano can offer.
Floating Roof Design in the 2015 Nissan Murano
One of the most impressive feats of engineering for the 2015 Murano is also one of the most noticeable. Taking heavy cues from Nissan’s “Resonance” concept that debuted at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, the 2015 Murano’s roofline appears to hover above the vehicle. This effect is achieved by clever use of black body paneling to hide the C pillar in addition to a flowing side profile that emphasizes clean, motion-filled lines rather than the traditional boxy profile of Crossovers and SUVs.
Zero Gravity Seats
Following in line with the space travel theme are two front seats designed to feel like you are lighter than air. A unique ergonomic design relieves pressure felt on the lower back during longer trips while also reducing overall fatigue while driving in the Nissan Murano.
The 60/40 split rear seats can fold down to completely disappear and give you a full 69.9 cubic feet of cargo space. An automated lever makes it happen as if by magic. A power liftgate similarly opens up with the touch of a finger, either on the key fob, dashboard controls or on the hatch button itself.
Advanced Drive Assist Display
Tiny, pixelated trip computers have now been supplanted by screens big enough to count as a mini-tablet. The Murano’s seven inch in-dash display can show you things like turn-by-turn navigation, radio station information, individual tire pressure levels, fuel readings and safety alerts so that the driver’s eyes can stay on the road as much as possible.
Around View Monitor
In addition to a rearview backup camera that has become all but standard on modern SUVs and Crossovers, the Murano features a new twist shared only by other Nissans. Four cameras mounted around the car work together to provide a 360° view that gives drivers a bird’s eye perspective on how close they are to other vehicles when trying to parallel park or pull out of a space. A Moving Object Detection sensor also brings to your attention to people, animals or things that happen to be moving about while you park.
Using NissanConnect in the 2015 Murano
Sync your smartphone with the infotainment system to stream music, traffic updates and podcasts directly from your mobile device into the speakers.
2015 Nissan Murano Safety Technology
In addition to features that make the Murano more fun or easier to drive, Nissan added technology that makes being inside safer, too:
- Predictive Forward Collision Warning senses a possible front impact, and Forward Emergency Braking can activate the brakes in time to prevent a collision
- Blind Spot Warning alerts drivers when someone is in their blind spot as they try to change lanes
- Intelligent Cruise Control adapts to vehicles in front of the car and slows down, returning to cruising speed once the way is clear
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert prevents drivers from backing out on busy roads when oncoming traffic could be headed their way
