That’s because not only are they economical, but they also deliver an outstanding driving experience. They offer outstanding performance, superior comfort and, of course, the best in modern technology. Drivers across the Philadelphia, Doylestown and Lansdale regions appreciate the best that these vehicles have to offer. The 2018 Nissan Altima is a perennial favorite among drivers for its performance, reliability and tech offerings. While it’s due for a redesign in the coming years, it still manages to hold its own handily among cars in the sector. Let’s take a look at the 2018 Nissan Altima technology offerings and find out where you can go to get behind the wheel for a test drive.
2018 Nissan Altima Technology
The various technology packages in the Altima are spread among its five trim levels, with a few add-on packages. This year’s model brings new technology and driver convenience upgrades that are welcome additions. These include standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto app integration into the optional 7-inch touchscreen for full smartphone integration. In addition, you now get standard frontal crash warning and mitigation with automatic emergency braking at all levels to keep your passengers even safer on your next road trip..
Two different engine options are available for the new Altima. Every trim except the range-topping 3.5 SL trim includes a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 179 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, driven by a continuously variable transmission. It provides a smooth and comfortable front wheel drive experience. For those who want more power and performance, the top-of-the-line model gives you a 3.5-liter V6 engine. At this level, you’ll get 270 horsepower with 251 pound-feet of torque.
At the base entry level, you get a solid suite of technology offerings. These include keyless entry and ignition, rearview camera, forward crash warning, automatic emergency braking and a sound system driven by a 5-inch display with Bluetooth and six speakers. It’s everything you need for a convenient and modern ride experience that also keeps you safe.
Upgrading trims opens up a range of technology upgrades, including a number of outstanding driver aid, convenience and infotainment features. These include everything from remote start and LED headlights and running lights to a wealth of entertainment via satellite radio and premium Bose audio. Dual-zone automatic climate control, heated seats and heated steering wheel will keep you comfortable. Power mirrors and power seats ensure you’re always poised at the optimal position. You also get intelligent safety systems like cross-traffic alerts and blind spot monitoring.
At the very top level you get additional features like heated auto-dim mirrors so you’re never blinded. Parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and the NissanConnect emergency telematics system keep you safer than ever before. The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone integration kick up your entertainment options, and paddle shifters give you superior control. Many of these features are available on lower trims via an add-on package, so you don’t need to step all the way up to the 3.5 V6 to get, for example, the app integration and larger touchscreen.
